When talking about the Caribbean, you’re actually talking about 700 islands in 13 countries with some 45 million people spread out over a vast part of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. We love the Caribbean for its beaches and golf.
We’ve been to a number of islands, and will be writing about our experiences in this blog. Food, sunshine, the people – all add up to a wonderful time.
There are more than 120 golf courses in the Caribbean. Some 40% are stand-alone courses; that is, they aren’t associated with any residential or hotel developments. One study showed that about 15% of golfers travel there from Canada. Most, though, come from the U.S. The Dominican Republic has the most courses at 28.
The Old Quarry course in Curacao is ranked among the 50 best courses in the Caribbean. Check out golfing on Curacao in our golf and travel blogs.
